Today, research activities are no longer a cost but an investment. So that the amount of this investment in the level of economic enterprises and in the national levels of countries is increasing day by day and the amount of investment in this sector is an indicator for their development. The purpose of the research and development unit is to create suitable infrastructures for the growth of research culture in the organization, to cultivate efficient researchers and to implement research projects in order to meet the scientific and technical needs of the organization. Today’s business environment is facing changes in technology on the one hand and changes in the needs of the market on the other hand, so that rapid changes in this area have caused, managers simultaneously put two conflicting goals on the agenda and work to achieve them. These two goals are: stability and change, Because on the one hand, they have to take action to maintain and stabilize the current situation, and on the other hand, they have to change the current situation and prepare themselves to face future changes, thus continuing their presence in the market. Achieving these goals requires increasing the value-creating ability of the economic enterprise through knowledge-based decision-making and scientific management. This fact has been considered for years in the industrialized and developed countries of the world, and for this reason, over the past few decades, investment in  (R&D) as a basis for scientific management in companies has been increasing exponentially. Today it is said that only companies that are able to survive and compete in the future can increase the share of knowledge in their products. Accordingly, the position and necessity of the R&D unit at Auxin Steel Company as the most strategic producer of high-strength steel sheets in the Middle East is understandable.

The purpose of the research and development unit  is to create appropriate infrastructure for the growth of research culture in the organization, to cultivate efficient researchers and to implement research projects in order to meet the scientific and technical needs of the organization. The basis of the research and development unit’s processes has been established through the modeling of successful industrial enterprises. This unit tries to achieve the explained goals based on needs assessment, definition and implementation of internal and external research projects, as well as supporting the ideas of the company’s entrepreneurial staff. The activities of the Research and Development Unit are focused on three areas: ““Research and Technology”,“، ““Proposal Participatory System”” and “” Management Based on Knowledge “.“
